Bruce Miller – Senior Pastor
What I Do:
Help people find and follow Christ, and then help them help others do the same. I serve as a member of our elder team and lead our Senior Pastor team. I research, write, and preach weekly sermons.
What I Love About Christ Fellowship:
The heart to be all in for Jesus and care for people. People are genuine, accepting, and sincerely want to follow Christ and help others in our community and around the world.
How I Ended Up at Christ Fellowship:
God led my wife Tamara and I to McKinney from Plano to start the church. Our first service was March 16, 1997. I’ve fallen in love with the people in our community.
Before Christ Fellowship:
I was an associate pastor at Fellowship Bible Church North in Plano, Texas, under Gene Getz. The church is now named Chase Oaks and is pastored by one of my friends, Jeff Jones. I also taught theology at Dallas Theological Seminary.
How I Met Jesus:
My parents shared the incredible news with me that God offered to forgive me for the bad things I do based on what Jesus did for me on the cross. I needed to admit my sins and trust in Jesus to be my Lord and Leader. I did and have never looked back. He is my strength, my joy, my reason for living and my life.
Favorite Bible Verse:
“Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” — Psalm 73:25-26
Racquetball, hiking mountains in Colorado, enjoying a campfire in my backyard with my chocolate labrador retriever, Calvin, and reading novels.
I also love writing, having authored the following books: The Leadership Baton, Your Life in Rhythm, Your Church in Rhythm, Big God in a Chaotic World – A Fresh Look at Daniel, Sexuality – Approaching Controversial Issues with Grace, Truth and Hope; as well as Same-Sex Wedding – Should I Attend?. Books in the works include When God Makes No Sense—A Fresh Look at Habakkuk and Never the Same – A Fresh Look at the Sermon on the Mount.
