Garland Beasley – Associate Care Pastor
What I Do:
I care for hurting people through counseling and encouragement. I work with the Care Team to provide hospital visitation, organize and present baptism, conduct funeral services and weddings.
What I Love About Christ Fellowship:
I love meeting new people and developing relationships. Christ Fellowship is a church where we genuinely connect with each other. People are accepted and respected … no matter where they come from or what their past has been.
How I Ended Up at Christ Fellowship:
We were drawn to Christ Fellowship through members who reached out to us and invited us to church. On our third visit, I turned to Deb and said, “This is where God wants us.”
Before Christ Fellowship:
From my days at Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary to the present, I’ve done many things including pastoring several churches, starting my own business (that I’ve had for almost 30 years) serving in a number of churches, and finally reaching home … Christ Fellowship!
How I Met Jesus:
At the age of 12, I was saved during a country church revival. I was under conviction for several days before my decision, but I was too shy to respond. This particular night I found myself floating through the air toward the altar … all my fears and shyness were gone. If you could go back to the hills of Alabama you might find the rock where I carved my name to record the year of my salvation – “Garland Beasley 1949”
Favorite Bible Verse:
“I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
