Jason Hibdon – Spanish Worship Pastor
What I Do:
I am over the Spanish Sunday morning worship experience, including music, production and all frontline.
What I Love About Christ Fellowship:
So far what I have enjoyed most is the leadership. They are people I can be friends with, and that’s really important to me.
How I Ended Up at Christ Fellowship:
I was searching online for a church I could be a part of full-time and came across the church’s ad for this position. Little did I know at the time it was the same place I had been having band rehearsals for the past few months while helping out another ministry in the McKinney area.
Before Christ Fellowship:
I was raised as a missionary’s kid for eight years in Spain. I did all of my elementary and junior high school there. When I was 14 we moved back to the U.S., to McAllen, Tx. I moved to Dallas in 1997 to attend Christ for the Nations Bible Institute. I later worked there as the Spanish Music Director between 2006 and 2011. I also traveled as the band director and producer for Marco Barrientos for a few years.
How I Met Jesus:
I was born into a Christian home and I think I “got saved” at least three times before I was 5. I was baptized at age 10. I don’t really have an exciting story of how I came to really know Jesus; I never really had that “I was lost but now I’m found” moment. It has just been a slow and steady progression.
Favorite Bible Verse:
Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” Darkness is influenced by light, not the other way around. God made us to be seen and to be a positive influence on that which is not good.
Basketball, skiing, hiking, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Real Madrid.
Random Fun Fact:
I once did a six month tour with Mute Math as the monitor engineer. I always order iced tea, unsweet, extra ice. And I sleep with a fan (ALWAYS).
