What I Do:
I am the Human Resources Manager.
What I Love About Christ Fellowship:
The mission of “people helping people find and follow Christ” is not just spoken, but lived, at Christ Fellowship, and I love the fact that truly all are welcome. The humility and willingness to reach out and help others is amazing. People do not need to worry about where they’ve been or what they’ve done. We are all sinners, saved by grace.
How I Ended Up at Christ Fellowship:
When my family moved here in 2008, several churches in the area were recommended by friends and family. We didn’t make it through that list. Once we visited Christ Fellowship, the search was over.
Before Christ Fellowship:
I come from a corporate environment with much of my experience in Customer Service and Project Management. Before marrying my husband in 2001, I was focused on becoming VP before I turned 35. When we started dating and I realized that I wanted a family with him, it became very clear that my focus was all wrong. We had our son Zachary in 2003 and I spent several years as a stay-at-home mom.
How I Met Jesus:
My family ensured that Jesus was a part of my life before I was born. Thanks to them, I had a very Christ-centered, loving environment that has carried into my adult life.
When I was 5, I was building a snowman with my friend Brenda during one of the rare Texas snowstorms, and decided I needed Jesus in my heart. So kneeling next to a big snowball that would be the base of the snowman (big for a 5 year-old), I asked Him to come into my heart.
Favorite Bible Verse:
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” AND Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Reading, exercising, and trying to keep up with my three ninjas – my husband, Mike, and our sons, Nate and Zachary.
Random Fun Fact:
When something strikes me as really funny, I chortle… which is just a nice way of saying that I snort when I laugh.
